Squads called for senior, Under-23, Under-20 camps

TWENTY-SEVEN players have been called to the national senior team training camp to begin preparation for the upcoming Gold Cup tournament in Miami in July.

The players will report for training tomorrow at the players residence at 2:00 pm. They will then travel to Montego Bay for the camp.

The Jamaica Football Federation has also named national squads for the Under-23 and Under-20 squads.

Fourteen overseas-based players and 13 local players make up the list for the senior.

The overseas contingent includes Ricardo Gardner, Jermaine Johnson, Michael Johnson, Micah Hyde, Darren Byfield, Paul Hall, Onandi Lowe, Keith Kelly, Tyrone Marshall, Andy Williams, Craig Zaidie, Jamie Lawrence, Richard Langley and Kevin Lisbie.

The local players are Fabian Taylor, Damion Stewart, Robert Scarlett, Shawn Sawyers, Claude Davis, Omar Daley, Roen Nelson, Gerald Neil, Cornel Chin-Sue, Donovan Ricketts, Aaron Lawrence, Theodore Whitmore and Marco McDonald.

The Under-23 squad will go into camp this Sunday as they continue preparation for Olympic qualifiers starting with Cuba in September.

Thirty-two players, including seven based overseas, have been invited.

Six of the overseas players are based in Britain. They are Cleveland Taylor (defender) of Bolton Wanderers, Simeon Howell (midfielder) of Reading, Michael Johnson (defender) from Fulham, Nicholas Francis (forward) of Oscott Rangers and Jermaine Lewis (defender), a 16 year-old from the Newcastle Academy.

The seventh is midfielder Adam Wallace who is based in the United States and who was an important member of the Under-20 team which made it to the World Cup finals in Argentina two years ago.

The local-based players are Alex Thomas, Shane Stevens, Wayne Ellis, Leon Strickland, Allan Reid, Sheldon Battiste, Kieron Bernard, Tyrone Sawyers, Carlington Smith, Maurice Evans, Woolry Wolfe, Mario Swaby, Allien Whittaker, Christopher Harvey, Christopher Nicholas, Roland Dean, Lenworth Hyde Jr, Lacon Brissett, Richard McCallum, Damion Williams, Fabian Dawkins, Demar Phillips, Desmond Breakenridge, Weston Forrest, and Khari Stephenson.

The 24 players for the Under-20 camp which begins today at the GC Foster College are all local-based.

They are Duwayne Kerr (Mannings High), Erron Brown (Glenmuir High), Tedroy Watson (Cornwall College), Ryan Thompson (Ardenne High), Kieron Bernard, Kefei Wolfe (Jonathan Grant High), Steven Morrissey (Jonathan Grant High), Keneil Moodie (Rusea's High), Kemar Campbell (United Challenger of Portland), Nicholy Findlayson (Petersfield High), Jermaine Taylor (St Mary's Tech), Ricardo Taylor (Buff Bay High), Kemar Munroe (St Jago High), Wade Spence, Zetroy Robertson (St Elizabeth Technical), Ricardo Cousins (Glenmuir High), Mitchely Whaul, Marlon Benbow (Dunoon Technical), Akeem Priestly (Ardenne High), Howard Wong, Luton Shelton (Wolmer's), Troy Watson (Kingston College), Donovan Miller (Marcus Garvey), Gostell Williams (York Town).
