TeamTalk, Reporting: Theo Whitmore and Ian Goodison will miss tomorrow's friendly against Obilic Belgrade as they will be taking part in a game for Jamaica on Sunday. The Reggae Boyz have lined up a friendly at the Vetch Field against Swansea and both The Tigers' international duo will be involved, meaning they will miss the Boothferry Park clash. That means City boss Brian Little will have to ditch his tradition of playing two separate teams in each half of the pre-season friendlies. He was set to change that in any event, but the unavailability of both Goodison and Whitmore has confirmed those plans.
Theo back in favour. Theodore Whitmore can still play a role for Hull but he has to prove his worth as a striker, according to boss Brian Little. Whitmore can work his way into the reckoning but the ball is in his court after the club decided he is available on a free transfer. The enigmatic Jamaican international stole the show in last night's 3-1 win over Kilmarnock at Boothferry Park with two goals in the second half. Little emphasised that Whitmore is still in his thoughts and The Tigers manager was quick to come to the defence of his Reggae Boyz star. Little said: "Theo is still under contract to us and we hold all of the cards. "Theo is happy to fight for his place and when he plays like he's played in pre-season we wouldn't want him to leave. "If you compare him today to the way he was in the last half of last season, there is no comparison. "He had a particularly rough spell with things in his life which were nothing to do with football and it did affect his play but Theo is back to his best, if not better than his best, so we wouldn't want him to move at the moment. "He is aware of my feelings and I am aware of his feelings, and we'll just crack on with things at the moment."
