I thought I had to paste this here for the record. I like what the man said "We want Walter, and others, to understand our goals and purpose, those that they share and represent. We are completely supportive, but not enslaved by their talents. We are genuinely behind their accomplishments, feverishly so -- but we remain, fanatical, to national cause. Here we're not behind but beside them, team members of common ideals."

Hope the Walter Boyd diehards know that this is the position of most they consider his haters.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

MANY have been crying foul over the return of the mercurial striker, Walter Boyd, to the national senior football team, the Reggae Boyz. The 'bad boy', as he is so adjudged in some quarters, is coming back - a re-entry you contend, gained perhaps, by artful acts of convenience.

It's what most keep charging - the main protest at the centre circle -- and because we've had our fill of those with considerable flair, but with penalties struck against them for increasing character flaws; the threads are thin, if not completely broken, on pardon being permitted.

As is said in our parlance -- 'you don't want to hear nothing.' You're just tired of it -- 'let the doors be shut on the 'bad boys'.

You're hardly listening then to technical director and coach, a man passion filled with our cause, Brazilian Clovis de Oliveira. You feel he is being pressured to act accordingly, by players off the field running the game. Compliance therefore has been ordered.

This man with heart, throwing his spirit behind every word, must be still hoping for a listening ear to what he has been insisting is a straightforward story. He can't take prior indiscretions, if we must be polite - applying them as factors, weighted, to his match report. He may well understand how we're aggrieved, over what we contend are acts recurring, but decisions have to be taken on what he himself has experienced as technical director and coach of the squad.

And this is not a recourse being sought, a technicality being bought, for facilitating audience for de Oliveira. And no excuse is being sought here, either, for Walter Boyd. Not all 'tales may be taken out of school' but positions have been reached because Clovis de Oliveira, alone, has decided that due factors have been met, and that Mr. Boyd, on his own, apologetic and compliant, has been seeking, earnestly even, to redeem himself - with the coach always resolute on what was required.

We can go away, believing, that all this is makeshift and Machiavelian. A way, again, of letting Walter Boyd in. No one would dare contend here, as no one necessarily should for anyone, that transformation is guaranteed. We are not among the foolhardy. Coach de Oliveira is, however, correct - Mr. Boyd's future is in his own hands -- because we'll all be watchful, with each and every passing moment, over conduct affecting national life.

Let all our sporting players understand their roles, and the weight, as well, of the stands and pavilion as stakeholders. Let all sporting administrators, as well, understand this. It's not match hype, our commitment to our Reggae Boyz, to our sportsmen and women, ambassadors in whom largely we see ourselves. It's not match hype when we keep stressing our support beyond the score of any game. It's not a promotional campaign.

It's a pledge, believed - because conduct, remains, a main component of prowess. We therefore expect Walter Boyd, and others, to rise to full measure -- and we're getting very tired over the time being taken to do it.
No wonder most of us -- 'don't want to hear nothing'.

We want Walter, and others, to understand our goals and purpose, those that they share and represent. We are completely supportive, but not enslaved by their talents. We are genuinely behind their accomplishments, feverishly so -- but we remain, fanatical, to national cause. Here we're not behind but beside them, team members of common ideals.

Let's all fall in line. Like us, Walter Boyd, with considerable flair, is also simply team member, sharing this focus.

Waste of time Tilla, unfortunately for us we have IDITOTS that masquarade as football reporter and they seize on popular issues to comment and contribute to the feeding frenzy. They are not telling us anything that we don't already know. HOwever here is the kicker they all pretend to take a stand and ask the tough questions but when it comes time to challenge the authoraties or the JFF they are nowhere in sight and you can't find a column.

OK it is okay to focus on Boyd but that subject is beaten to death. What is more important right now? Boyd or the overall team preparation?(now you see my point) these idiots should be questioning why the JFF has turned down a minimum of 3 good friendlies in the last month. Who is asking those tough question?

Tilla as soon as I saw the Swansea game I knew that the Brazil game was off. Which reporter right now has the balls to tell the JFF that they haven't exhausted their 5 game friendly limit for calling their players as mandated by FIFA. They all cower in fear but live on the players because they can. These lowlife-coward-no balls having son of a bit(*** call this reporting?

Why don't they tell the people that the real reason the JFF called off the match was that they weren't going to be able to pocket some money or eat a food in Brazil as they would do in Swansea. Again money takes precendence over common sense.

Where are all these journalist when the JFF sign over their rights to INterforever sports for 1 million US and we don't hear a damn thing about that money?(memba all our radio stations and HOmeview? damn idiots)

I will gladly exchange Boyd not being on the team with us going to Asia but should Boyd be our focus right now or should we worry about practise games?

Damn idiots no wonder we can't even get a damn match report from Cuba.

respect
