Burton and Hayles? Fuller and Burton?
Is Lowe really the problem?

Karl, I am not too sure if I would put all the blame at Lowe's feet, although he is a big part of it. Firstly, Lowe is not really playing smart as a striker. He is using his strength, speed and dribbling skills to overcome his opponents. This sometimes does not work, and Lowe might need to play his game differently to the benefit of the team.
I cannot say I saw any serious exchanges between Lowe and Wolde on Saturday. It was all a one man army trying to demolish the opposition. Also, if at times he was not trying to kill the goalkeeper, he might be better able to direct the ball at the keeper and force him to make a save. A lot of times this is how your goals will come as a striker, you allow others to play off you.
TD de Oliveria also needs to know when to make changes to affect the outcome of the game. If you are trying one thing and it is not working, change and try something else. Too many times we seem as if we are out of attacking options, we really do not know what to do.
For the Costa Rica game, I would start Nandi and Burton. Depending on how these guys are playing would influence the changes I make up front. We still have attacking options in Hayles, Harris and Fuller.
For the midfield, I would look at bringing on Whitmore in the second half. Start Micah Hyde with Williams, Powell and Jamie Lawerence in the middle.
I would leave out Marshall in the back for this game and use Marco McDonald on the right. Frank Sinclair and Goodison pick themselves in the middle. Left back is a position I am not too sure who would occupy, but we could move Jamie there and use Simpson in midfield as defensive midfielder.
Goalkeeper is Donovan Ricketts, who continues to impress with each match he plays.
TD Oliveria needs to show more awareness of the attacking strategies of the opposition and making the necessary changes to counter. We cannot approach a battle without a backup plan.
Anyway, for tomorrow's game, expect Costa Rica to utilize their speed against us. We will need to have a man, preferably Goodison who will close down Paulo Wanchope. This guy hurt us big time the last time we were in San Jose in a WCQ game there. I hope we learned our lesson.

If Clovis put Bibi on the left wing then that would be another scoring option. The team will be more successful if we attack our opponent's defense from every direction. Our offense is basically Lowe and this has to change. It is easier to find a replacement player for the 'left back' position than to find a 'left winger' of Bibi's quality.

Well Karl I have another scoring option for you. He is Black Pearl. Boyd has a 'powerful shot' and is the best dribbler on the team.

Could we all stop talking about Boyd, he is history now, lets look forward to the future and stop dwelling on the past. I know that Boyd was good and maybe still is but he can't be on the team forever, how long is it now? 10 years? As time goes by there are players that just have to step aside for new ones and we have to accept those changes.
Even though I think that Whitmore and Gardner are jamaica's best players there time will come too. They will have to give way to younger, fitter and even more skillful players. So let us stop talking about Boyd, If for some strange reason we see him in the squad { which would be a BIG surprise } that would have mean that he is not done yet and that would be good for our team.
I have no problems with Jamaica's squad, all they need is some heart. They have all they need to do well its just that they don't seem to believe it.
Well thats my view and I just want to say in closing; I wish Jamaica all the best in there remaining matches and I also wish them the best for their match against Brazil even though I don't like the idea.

The team should do well against Brazil. There is not all that much difference between the top 25 teams. It is all about the faster (pace and decision making), support (belief in teammatres ability) and playing from the 'head' (out-thinking your opponent and heart).
The Reggae Boyz will be fine!

I really hope that Boyd can deliver the goods when we play Mexico. I am yet to be impressed by Boyd in all the games I have seen him. I hope for the team's sake though, he can find form to make the difference.
