So! There is a universal understanding that TEAMS are molded by having players competing regularly TOGETHER.
Let us not dwell on the past WC Qualifiers (Hexagonal)...it is a fact the JFF @#$%^&*&^%$%$#@ up, big time, by not arranging quality practise matches for the REGGAE BOYZ. Let us instead look to the future and recognise that the REGGAE BOYZ must have regular matches together during the intervening years 2002-2006.
Forward to the "Big Dance" in 2006! Remember the battle will be hotter!
Read below FIFA's stance on those who will be attending WC FINAL 2002! Could the inference be drawn that FIFA wants no 'group of players' on the field to devalue the World Cup? Does that mean FIFA expects TEAMS as opposed to 'groups of players'? Quality TEAMS?
At this time there is fire burning in my heart as a result of the JFF's diss to de max...of myself, the players, the affiliates, Jamaica's Football....and JAMAICA! We should be at the "Big Dance" this time. The JFF scuttled our opportunity!!!!

FIFA's Players' Status Committee rules on the release of players for upcoming international matches The FIFA Players' Status Committee, meeting on 31 October in Zurich under the chairmanship of Slim Aloulou (Tunisia), has confirmed that the new transfer regulations introduced in September will apply to the release of players for international matches.
According to Art. 36 para. 3 of the new regulations, if a national association's representative team has qualified ex officio for a final competition, players must be released for a total of eight international matches per calendar year.
Regarding the FIFA World Cup™ qualifying matches in South America scheduled for Wednesday 7 November 2001, the Players' Status Committee noted that in February 2000, the dates of 7 or 8 November 2001 had been chosen as the dates for the 17th round of these qualifiers.
However, the South American associations only confirmed 7 November a few days ago, whereas the European associations confirmed the dates for their fixtures several months ago. Bearing this in mind, the European associations could have reasonably expected the qualifiers in South America to be played on 8 November 2001, as the following weekend (10/11 November) had also been set aside for international matches.
The committee has therefore concluded that it would be unfair to deprive clubs of the services of some of their top players, as they would not have been able to foresee this situation when establishing their own fixtures. The committee has thus decided that - as an exception to the applicable regulations - the clubs concerned will not be asked to release their players prior to the upcoming weekend, but will instead be allowed to retain their services for the matches taking place on 3 and 4 November respectively.
The clubs will be asked to take the necessary steps to ensure that the players are at the immediate disposal of their national teams after they have played their league matches this weekend.
