  • Simpson’s ambitious plan for local Boyz

Reggae Boyz team manager Roy Simpson says he has formulated a plan that will ensure the best local talent not only get the opportunity, but also the experience needed to compete with overseas-based professionals for places in future national teams.

Simpson says this plan will consistently turn out quality local professionals and a competitive local-based national squad, but added that it will need the support of all stakeholders.

One step forward, two step backward.

You have to work with the clubs and schools. Make training in regions 1 or two days a week. Get the clubs and their coaches involved and work on a plan that that will build confidence and work on players short coming.

Have local and overseas camp with accredited instructors and experience individuals on the off seasons. You can't take out the players for extended time from their clubs but you can create a system that cover it all. Many countries have been able to do it.
