  • Let us put the for and anti UB40s in a certain

context. Jamaica is the sum of its parts.
Selection of our national teams should always be from the whole.

Years past stated my postion as being: Putting a good top quality TEAM on the field has nothing to do with where our players reside...but on the quality of each player and TEAM. We should not be wasting our energies on discussions about where any of our players reside...matters not if the player was born a yaaard or faour-in!

On yaard players we must concentrate on improving teaching standards and unearthing best talents from every nook adn cranny of the island.

    btw - Just a repeat!

So King Karl...who is going to train the trainers.

    Thanks.

That problem we have been timidly approaching for more than 50 years. However, here are some suggestions:
      a) Our results show the standard of play at the youth level is not acceptable. – Our players are inept.

      b) Our results show the standard of teaching (coaching) of the game is not at an acceptable level. – Our coaches are inept.

      Conclusion:
      a) The JFF needs to immediately address working with its affiliates to improve teaching of football throughout all levels where the game is taught and played – primary schools, preparatory schools, ISSA, Parishes, Confederations, Clubs…and the Teacher Training Colleges and Universities.

      b) The JFF needs to immediately address providing lecturers of the highest world quality to teach at each level where football is taught and played.

      c) The JFF should *retain all the current youth football coaches in its technical staff and provide them with training in the areas of “teaching practice” and increased practical knowledge.

The training here must include teaching METHODS and practical observation of and interaction with coaching at the top FIFA Ranked nations and top world clubs. There must be a finding of and using of the world’s best resource teaching experts and institutions.

HL My friend, it should not be too difficult to have our Age-Group players tour Europe in our offseason and or have Europe's top age-group teams (1 or 2 teams) visit annually...play against our comparable age-group 'best of our best' and thus introduce both our young talents and our naive technical 'experts' to 'real football'.

Aside: That word *retain was an error. The word that should have been there is retrain.
