  • Preparations & continuity?

    http://www.reggaeboyzsc.com/views.aspx?id=227

(Good coaching/training + good support) + continuous preparatory matches!

    It is nonsense to stop!
The suggestion of some that wholesale introduction of 'new yutes' be groomed for the following World Cup has proven a failure. It is a NONSENSE strategy!

You keep your TEAM preparing and playing quality opponents CONTINUOUSLY! You keep your TEAM always at its strongest.

That keeping your TEAM always at its strongest means players are introduced as players are removed i.e...as the established are surpassed in competence. It makes for TEAM always at its strongest. It means among other things that when a FIFA World Cup Qualification tournament comes around there is already a cohesive unit...at the TOP OF ITS GAME stepping into the fray to execute. No nonsense of searching for a semblance of TEAM...it is merely a continuation of 'fine tuning'...a process that is always a 'present continuous' act. The core was identified and was being worked with previous to the qualifiers...the roster chosen just previous to the qualifying tournament and 'fine tuning'/minute fine-tuning of that now fixed/chosen core done as warranted from game to game (Yeah injuries, loss of form during the tournament, other matters that could not be foreseen...makes changes and further fine-tuning necessary...as the coach plans his match by match strategy).

This matter of "stop-start-stop-start..." so-called preparations is for novices. Surely after 1998 we should have learned something on the matter of preparation of teams?

I pray that this last of the many crises will teach those that manage our football the folly of that "stop-start-stop-start..." policy and a turning to "continuous preparations"...keeping of best TEAM continuously active...continuously growing!

NB: Ofcourse the same model must be used at all national levels/national teams' levels...to among other things develop the players who shall be able to step into the next level more senior team without weaking same!
