  • Tufton can't find a seat.

Candidate selection exercises were completed in three constituencies on Saturday, ahead of the upcoming general election, and the most eye-catching outcome was the one that saw the failure of Dr. Christopher Tufton to secure the backing of delegates of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) in West Central St. Catherine

    Very ,very ,very interesting.
THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

Oddly enough,we just witnessed a noticeably heightened concern in PNP affairs by people who are usually preoccupied with the affairs of the JLP.The concern is the best candidate was ignored by the delegates, albeit that candidate probably would not have a strong support base in a general election,is that The( undeclared)reason..?
The issue casts suspicions on the leader, bur hey,who will deny that Tufton's demise is directly related to the acrimonious relationship between himself and the leader of the party?
A case of Portia may have and Holness certainly did,a case of one somehow now being concerned about the suspicious goings on of the PNP but ignores more glaring happenings of the JLP.
Not a case for being objective.

All politics is LOCAL and both parties guilty of foisting the National "glamour candidate" on the locals. Democracy is fighting back a bit.

Tufton try to get a easy pickings and it backfire. If he wanted to win, him shoulda settle himself in a constituency long time. He has the national stage lock up and if he did the ground work he would be safe.

actual, he probably could have gotten easier pickings .... like Gregory Mair's ...

I feel like he wanted a mandate on his own steam and THAT has backfired .....
