Highlighting the results of a recent research conducted by the World Travel and Tourism Council, the tourism minister said removing the APD would result in the creation of 91,000 British jobs and add 4.2 billion pounds to the economy in 12 months.
He was speaking at a meeting with members of the Jamaican Diaspora community at the Jamaican High Commission in London yesterday.
Jamaica and other tourism interests in the Caribbean have been long complaining that the APD has been having a negative impact on tourism in the region.
