    Criminalise squatting?

    Government senator Dennis Meadows calls for Act to make squatting a criminal act.

    With over one million persons squatting this could prove yet another useless piece of legislation but then Meadows has been known to open his mouth before thinking

      So when you take man to court for living on Backra land and fine him, how him going to pay and where does he go home to afterward?

      Dont get me wrong I am not advocating people stealing land etc as i see it every day but ....

        no, I know you are not advocating it. But I thought the problem is we are not enforcing the law out of compassion and party politics.

        When they want to build hotel or business on the land they run the people off. My problem with squatting is when I used use to work at Halfmoon man was selling squatters land in Mobay and said all you had to do was start building.

        What we need is better policies to streamline and make some of the people buy their own land.
