Members of the Organised Crime Investigation Division (OCID) have reportedly receiving death threats from persons said to be linked to the recent seizure of a large stash of cash, counterfeit cigarettes and liquor in St. Andrew.
st1\:*{behavior:url(#ieooui) }A police source told RJR News that hours after the seizure, the OCID Unit began receiving threatening telephone calls.
An investigation has been launched to track down the persons who have been making the calls.
On Tuesday, two men were arrested when personnel from OCID and the Customs Enforcement Team, conducted a raid at residence in Beverly Hills, St. Andrew.
Cash totalling more than J$40 million was seized along with several boxes of counterfeit cigarettes and alcohol.
The police also conducted another raid in the Corporate Area which resulted in an additional seizure of more than J$1 million.
The police said the incidents were unrelated.
