Data from the Ministry of Finance show the Government has been spending more than it projected. The latest report on Central Government Operations reveals that during the first two months of the fiscal year, total spending was $1.1 billion higher than budgeted.
Fifty billion dollars was spent instead of the $48.8 billion which the Finance Ministry had expected.
A breakdown shows there was a $2.2 billion increase in recurrent or housekeeping expenditure.
However, this was offset by $1.1 billion decline in capital expenditure.
