MONTEGO BAY, St James - Defending champions St James High and Cornwall College are the first qualifiers for the Inter-zone round of the ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel daCosta Cup schoolboy football competition.
St James High's 3-1 win over Muschett High in their return-round Zone A game at Jarrett Park yesterday eliminated the Trelawny-based school, leaving only the two teams in the running for a place in the next round.

Roshane Reid scored twice for St James High, the third straight game in which he was finding the net, as the champions improved to 21 points and regained the lead from Cornwall, who were idle and stayed on 18 points.
Allan Ottey, last season's top goalscorer, was also on the scoresheet for his school.
In the other match played in Zone A yesterday, Herbert Morrison High got their first victory of the season, beating Spot Valley High, 3-1.
Meanwhile, Rafee Green scored twice as Paul Bogle High hammered St Thomas Technical 5-1 in Zone L-B to win the group ahead of Seaforth High, who completed their fixtures with 16 points.
The first-round game had ended in a 0-0 draw and St Thomas Technical needed just a draw to join Seaforth High in the play-off.
The top two teams from either sections of Zone L will play off for the Inter-zone places.
Meanwhile, Fair Prospect High got the point they needed courtesy of a 1-1 draw against Buff Bay High to join Port Antonio High from Zone L-A.
Tomorrow, Port Antonio will take on Seaforth, while Paul Bogle and Fair Prospect will meet in another game.
Marcus Garvey Technical returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Aabuthnott Gallimore High in Zone D to stay in the lead with 22 points.
Cedric Titus moved past William Knibb and into second place on 18 points after a 4-0 thrashing of York Castle High in Clarks Town. Romaine Lewis scored twice for Cedric Titus, who are yet to lose this season.
In Zone J, leaders Dinthill Technical beat Tacky High 3-1, while Christopher Duhaney scored a brace and Davian Humes once for Charlemont in their 3-0 win over Ewarton.
Meanwhile, Kemar Wilby, coach of York Castle High's daCosta Cup team, has been slapped with a two-year ban from all competitions run by the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA).
The suspension was handed down on Tuesday during a meeting of the Disciplinary Committee of ISSA at Ocho Rios High School.
Wilby was found guilty of abusing the referee following the September 17th Zone D first-round game between York Castle and Aabuthnott Gallimore High where he accused the officials of bias after his team lost, 4-3.
Meanwhile, Wilby's assistant, Rudolph Williams, was banned for two games, while players Aaron Walker, Shawn Allen, Cruise Nevins and Troy Mothersill were all suspended from yesterday's match against Cedric Titus for their part in the fracas.
In another decision handed down Tuesday, Edwin Allen High were awarded a 2-0 win over Holmwood Technical from their aborted Zone G match on September 30.
Edwin Allen were leading 2-0 in time added on when spectators hurled missiles on to the field, forcing the referee to call off the game.
The Disciplinary Committee also ruled that the suitability of the Holmwood field is to be examined.
Meanwhile, defending champions St James escaped sanctions after their Zone A game against Cornwall College was interrupted several times by missiles being thrown onto the field.
