Fed-up Manchester United stars tell David Moyes to get rid of Wayne Rooney

Senior United players have lost patience after the England star yesterday told Moyes he wants to join Chelsea.
Starsport understands the manager has decided to dump wantaway Rooney on the sidelines after several United stars told the Scot they didn’t want him in the team.
A group of the club’s most experienced players raised their concerns with Moyes and told him they no longer thought Rooney wanted to help the side win games.
The striker was left at home last night when United flew to Sweden for a pre-season friendly in Stockholm, with club bosses claiming the 27-year-old was suffering from a shoulder problem.

So why didn't the senior players be named? On a different note, if Chelsea pay 50 Million quid for Torres, why is Chelsea offering 25 M for a better player, a player many of the fans are convinced can lead them to the title?

              Possible good business?
Maybe they have heard that the player wishes to leave BoyU and wants to come to the Blues...and will push his case by not cooperating with TEAM BoyU or its administrators on present aims. ...maybe they have even heard the player will hand in a transfer request...maybe???

Just maybe they think BoyU is between a rock hard place either having to take money offered and cut losses or do without Rooney's services but having to pay his $200,000+ per week salary??? ...maybe???

Rooney is banking on joining Chelsea, so United must decide whether he's worth fighting for... especially after paying him £3m since his last start

Since Wayne Rooney was last picked to start a game for Manchester United, he has been paid more than £3million in wages.
For £240,000 a week, United are paying a player who is causing them maximum disruption in order to force through a move to Chelsea – not exactly value for money.
Although his salary is small beer for a club with annual revenues of around £320m, there are hidden costs to keeping Rooney at United.

Colour change? Rooney in his last game for Manchester united against Chelsea... who now want to sign the England forward

Not happy: Rooney started that game against Chelsea in May on the bench

He is fulfilling his contractual obligations by reporting for training at Carrington each day, but 45 minutes of action in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Real Betis is not a great return.
It’s just over 13 weeks since he started a Barclays Premier League game, at the Emirates against Arsenal.
A week later, against Chelsea, he couldn’t even get in the United starting XI ahead of Tom Cleverley or a 39-year-old Ryan Giggs.

The following weekend, in Fergie’s final home game in charge of the champions against Swansea, he didn’t even make the squad.
At The Hawthorns, Rooney’s absence was taken for granted long before the team bus left Old Trafford for that thrilling 5-5 draw against West Bromwich.
In the last few weeks, he has flown out to United’s pre-season tour and returned home within hours with a hamstring injury.

                Moyes latest on Rooney

He has re-iterated his desire to leave several times to new manager David Moyes and was left at home on Monday with a diplomatic shoulder injury when the squad flew to Stockholm.
By the time Rio Ferdinand’s testimonial against Sevilla swings round on Friday, or the Community Shield against Wigan at Wembley on Sunday, Rooney may well have handed in a transfer request.
At this rate he will be leaving his five Premier League titles and the Champions League medal from 2008 by the main gates at Carrington.
He is determined to work with Jose Mourinho and Chelsea have long since called off the search for alternative strikers.
Ashley Cole, one of Rooney’s close friends on England duty, is willing the forward to make the move south.
Mourinho knows the influence English players can have on the success of a team in the Premier League. He discovered it when he arrived in 2004 as a Champions League-winning manager.
John Terry, Frank Lampard, Joe Cole and Wayne Bridge were all established members of the Chelsea dressing room and all regular England internationals.

Losing out: United manager Moyes knows Rooney will leave, he just has to decide when that is

Mourinho senses the value second time around, which is one of the reasons he wants to add Rooney to his Chelsea squad ahead of their Premier League opener against Hull.
When Chelsea left for the International Champions Cup last week, club secretary Dave Barnard was left in England to continue negotiations with United.
They have had two bids turned down for Rooney but Mourinho believes he will get his man.
He has spoken highly of Rooney’s abilities before, once joking that he wanted to sign him for Real Madrid during a Champions League interview.
This time it’s for real, but Moyes has a difficult decision to make as he navigates through some choppy waters in his opening weeks in charge of United.
He knows he has lost the player, something he was acutely aware of when he replaced Ferguson as United’s new manager.

First-rate in red: But Rooney is scoring for England in Brazil, not for United

Poster boy: Manchester United had flagged up the friendly in Stockholm as Rooney's public return but he pulled out with a shoulder injury

The timing of his transfer is one of the issues, with the date of United’s fixture against Chelsea on August 26 a significant factor.
United’s fears are obvious. Rooney has enough star quality about him to do some real damage in a Chelsea shirt if he is given the chance to play against his former club.
He’s not the type to let the reaction of United’s supporters concern him if his wish is granted and he becomes a Chelsea player this summer.
At 27, Rooney believes he has five years left at the very highest level, more than enough time for United to move on without him.
As things stand, the true cost of keeping him could be a lot higher.

It's not Rooney's fault he didn't start in those matches. The manager was trying to make a point.

And Lazie, Rooney isn't worth £50m. Torres was sold for £50 and LFC bought Carrol fo £35... neither of these players was worth the price. Rooney certainly isn't worth more tha Suarez who is being valued at £40m.

Let's see, one was instrumental in his team winning the league. The other led his team to 7th place. The man who led his team to 7th is valued at £40,000,001 Rooney is capable of leading Chelsea to the title. What yuh talking bout PR?
