The top goalscorers are gone to Italy or Spain?
AnyWho my second club AC Milan have a Don who speaks straight and I like that... tell dem Galliani.
Galliani only has eyes for Adebayor
In an open and honest assessment of the summer transfer market, Galliani told the club's official website that Arsenal were unwilling to part with their forward, but that Milan were not prepared to consider alternatives.
Chelsea star Didier Drogba, Barcelona duo Ronaldinho and Samuel Eto'o, Lyon's Karim Benzema and Ajax top-scorer Jan-Klaas Huntelaar have all been linked with the Italian giants on a number of occasions.
However, Galliani claims that none of the above would better Milan's current crop of forwards, and insists that if Adebayor, 24, cannot be lured to the San Siro then the Rossoneri squad will still be good enough to compete for the Scudetto.
"At the moment there is only one deal in motion, and that's for Adebayor," he said.
"Milan remain true to their word, either Adebayor comes or we keep things as they are, with (Alberto) Paloschi.
"I still think that our squad as it is today is absolutely competitive enough to win the Scudetto.
"Everyone says it's not and I don't understand why when we have got Marco Borriello who has scored 19 goals in the Italian championship (at Genoa).
"We're happy with the forwards we have. We've got Paloschi who is fourth choice after (Alexandre) Pato, (Filippo) Inzaghi and Borriello.
"It's not like we're lacking forwards."
Despite Galliani's insistence that only Adebayor will do for the Italian club, he did admit that negotiations for 24-year-old would not be easy with Arsenal reluctant to sell and the player having signed a long-term contract at Emirates Stadium only last year.
"Adebayor has a contract, I'm always a pessimist by nature," he continued.
"Look at last year when Real Madrid said Kaka was theirs. If the club don't allow you in there's nothing you can do.
"If the player's at the end of his contract then his wishes are important, but if not and there's a contract and the club who owns him says no, then it's no. At the moment, it's no.
"Does it depend on Wenger? He's the Arsenal manager, a representative of the club, and at the moment the club isn't selling.
"Everything depends on Arsenal, but when a club says their player is indispensable there's not a lot that can be done.
"Of course things could always open up but at the moment I must keep to Arsenal's official line and that is that for the moment there is no possibility of negotiating."
Still, while Galliani may be pessimistic regarding Arsenal's stance there are those at the San Siro who believe that the Londoners may soon relent in their attempts to keep Adebayor.
Last week Milan scout Ernesto Bronzetti said he believed the Rossoneri had a "50% chance" of signing the forward after claiming that the London club were prepared to sell to Barcelona.
However, even if Arsenal do open the door to offers, a further setback in Galliani's eyes would be the cost of bringing the Togo star to Italy, as he believes that Italian clubs cannot compete with the money being offered in England.
"Then there's the problem that if the club does want to sell, then at what price? It's tough," he said.
"I keep saying 10 years ago Premier League clubs and Serie A clubs could offer the same figures, now we can't offer half, we're poorer."
He added: "At the moment there's no agreement between us and the player, and even if there was I wouldn't say there was. We can't contact players under contract."
In spite of all the apparent setbacks to the deal Galliani remained insistent that no other players would be coming to the San Siro before the start of next season, either for financial reasons or because the players that have been mentioned would not improve the squad.
"Some people are talking about Huntelaar, but I'm not sure he's better than Borriello," he explained.
"(Karim) Benzema? He costs too much and they (Lyon) are not selling.
"(Adrian) Mutu? There's no approach for him. The Romanian is a second striker and we have Pato in that position.
"(Antonio) Cassano? We haven't inquired about him. Like Mutu he's a second striker.
"As for Drogba, Chelsea say he's not for sale.
"For Eto'o, Barcelona are asking for too much money, and the player himself wants far, far too much. These are figures which just aren't compatible with an Italian club."
On Ronaldinho Galliani claimed that the Brazilian had an offer from a club in England that Milan could not compete with.
He said: "It's not true that we're considering a bid for him. He has a ridiculous offer from England and it can't be matched."
