Footballers diet? What would be a general diet for a professional footballer for breakfast, lunch and dinner in between matches?
And also the food before and after the match.
Thanks a lot, Phil A professional footballer would have a high carbohydrate breakfast - possibly a large bowl of high fibre cereal and low fat milk, with some toast and fruit juice.
He would have a mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack of fruit and a sandwich. Lunch would be bread/rice/pasta and fish/meat/poultry with veg or salad, followed by a youghurt or similar. For dinner he would have a regular healthy main meal of potaotes/rice/pasta, meat and plenty of veg.
Obviously it would vary between individuals. Footballers may also use some supplements like carb powders, energy bars and creatine monohydrate.
Plenty of fluid through the day, especially while playing or training.
He would eat 30-45mins before a match and should eat shortly afterwards
