OTown JFF needs comprehensive, continuing, coordinated management. Fri Jul 5 05:50:45 2002 198.190.151.155
I have read the reports of the JFF fiscal crisis and the resulting drastic measures being implemented by Captain Burrell. In my opinion, it appears that the JFF were taken off guard when they should not have been.
Specific impacts such as loss of revenue due to stadium maintenance and upgrades should have been anticipated and programmed far in advance. And I wonder how many events which would have been scheduled at the stadium were of such a magnitude that they could not have been staged elsewhere; for example, at the Arnett, Harbour View or Jarrett Park venues?
I am just curious as to whether this is a "take things as they come" approach to management or whether there is a carefully thought out program with a detailed annual plan, a 4-year near-term plan, and 16 to 20 year master plan.....because when you plan as I am suggesting, the disppointments are only small bumps on the pavement, as opposed to road blocks.
If you notice, I am abandoning my negative criticism of the JFF. In turn, I am giving constructive criticism and providing ideas which might be thought provoking and inspiring.
In hopes of Better Ja Football, OTown

& Okay let me be "CONSTRUCTIVE" before I go Fri Jul 5 08:54:35 2002 24.126.154.22
Okay so here is a post viod of emotional rhetoric, drivel and all that other crap!(you know above it all etc.)
First and foremost the JFF have no one to blame but themselves, their scheme caught up to them. This play it by the ear way of running a federation is old and tired now. The fact is that certain individuals within the JFF thrives off confusion and when I say confusion I mean confusion as in "how much income and expenses the JFF really have"
If you don't know that then the JFF can claim that they are broke all day long and get the public sympathy. However no one guages public sentiments like a politician after all their damn careers depend on it and so they WILL ensure that they have in place COMPETENT people to provide them with that info. The writing is on the wall now, public sentiment is no longer with the JFF and so the politicians can cut their budgets.
Right or Wrong that is how the game is played and you play by the rules so don't come crying foul now.
Here is what the JFF needs to do Get a damn budget going Find out how much Fixed costs the Federation have along with the Variable costs. Then look at projected income from sponsorship/FIFA money etc. and see what the projected shortfall will be. Also take into consideration money earned from the gate in qualifiers etc. will be a once every four year revenue intake so budget and spend wisely.
Enough with the "things cost a lot" and "this is very expensive" bull$h!t people see through that now. Exactly how much does it cost and exactly how much is the intake. Priotize the spending and put in place contingency plans to earn additional money.
I know for a FACT that the JFF took in on average over half a million dollars in 6 of the 8 home games played during qualifiers.
Where did that $3,000,000US go?
the JFF most pressing need right now is to find out what are their yearly expenses. We don't need people like Mac and Courtney to be telling us if we only know how much it cost to run a federation. To hell with that we need to know EXACTLY how much it cost.
Business no run so

OTown Govt probably made him promises, but it is election time Sat Jul 6 06:07:03 2002 64.12.103.161
Everyone gete promises. The ones who actually get money are those who the govt needs for the election, believes the public will support above other deserving recipients, or who conduct their business in an open and efficient manner. The government is attuned to the public's priorities now, more than at any other time in the election cycle.
The day the JFF provides thorough external audits, a comprehensive plan, frank assesments of its successes and failures, outlines mitigating actions for failures, and invites the best private sector and public sector minds to give continuing advice, that is the day that the flood gates open and support will engulf the JFF.
Respek.
