PARITY; the new word in World Football. Wed Jun 12 11:19:31 2002 66.205.24.3
I think not. Some are wanting to give the credit to Sepp Blatter who has embarked on programs to acheive this . I say FOOLS PARADISE.
FIFA needs to look at ther Football Schedule . TAKE A LONG LOOK AT IT TO.
The big teams with their big players have played up to 60 + games in the last three season for their CLUBS ALONE. What nobody thinks this is having an effect on the players and National teams ?? Almost all countries can lay claim to feeling the power that these clubs weild over world football . We in Jamaica know how hard it has been over the last two campaigns. It's an ongoing saga on the net & newspapers CLUB vs COUNTRY.
Add to this the apparently growing band of inept administrators and what are you getting;QUALITY TEAMS going home early. Teams that are so star studeded no club could look to assemble such a unit have not shown their true worth. Sluggish & unmotivated performances ending with tears when the players realise it's over before it even started.
The lesser teams have improved but Parity is not here what we have is football run into the ground by the people who have money. THE CLUBS.
I'm enjoying the W/Cup but I think dep down I would want to see a real Argentina vs Brasil clash . A France vs Cameroon. A France vs Italy similar to last Euro Championships .
Glad fi the minnows but has football won here, has the BEAUTIFUL GAME REALLY BENIFITTED FROM A HOST OF TIRED FOOTBALLERS NOT BEING ABLE TO REPRESNT COUNTRY & SELF PROPERLY ?? Have the Nationals of these countries who we see on the Tv & in the papers weeping openly really benefitted by this CONTRIVED PARITY ?? I THINK NOT !!!
Bettter we watch Champions League, at least they perform then.
Bless Courtney
