I just returned from Arrowhead Stadium where I witnessed the Wizards taken apart by Chicago Fire 7-0.

My impressions of the game are as follows. I did not think that the Fire played a game to win by 7-0. The Wizards played a very disorganized game in defense and midfield. The problem was also compounded by the fact that they are missing their starting goalkeeper Tony Meola, and his replacement is not very good.

I saw the Wizards play San Jose a game or two before Lowe joined the team. At that point in time, the Wizards looked like a very decent unit, as their back was organized, thanks to the leadership by Meola.

Most people may wonder how Lowe faired in the lineup. Under the circumstances, I would not put the blame on Lowe, as he seems to have been taken out of his type of game by the way the Wizards play. There was no selfishness by Lowe, as every time he gets the ball, he would look to make some telling plays. He made some very good one touch passes, but that still did not cut it.

Chicago did not have to man mark Lowe out of the game as seen with other teams when he plays for Jamaica. As long as Lowe did not make his selfish runs, he was not really a threat. Can you also imagine, Lowe was also fouled just outside the 18-yard box, on the left side, and he did not make himself available to take the kick?

I left the game not really disappointed that the Wizards lost, but the fact that Lowe needs to be not so predictable. If he could just combine some of what I saw this evening, with some of the selfish play he is accustomed in doing when he plays for Jamaica, he would be deadly. In other words, make some telling one-twos from time to time, but every now and then make a run at defenders, as we know he is capable of doing.

On the drive home, I was also wondering, how easy is it to change Lowe's game at this stage of the game? Is he one of the old dogs who cannot be taught new tricks? Or is he the player who can still be molded to give his game a new dimension?

I took my camera along, and I was able to tale some shots of our boy throughout the game. Hopefully they will look good enough that I can put them on the site for fans to see.

Respect,
Tilla

Very good to hear that he was providing support.

Trust me if he drops the selfish play his game and that of Jamaica would rise several notches. Translation definately WC 2002...and a pot full of dollars at the end!
