....or the Football World will dare not give us less than the respect we deserve?

15.02.02 - Honduras striker Saul Martinez scored his fifth goal in two games to sink a game Hong Kong XI and give the Central American side the Carlsberg Cup title Friday in Hong Kong. Martinez's 67th-minute header was enough to give Honduras the 1:0 win and complete a memorable week for the Club Nacional de Football (Uruguay) forward. Martinez hit for four goals on Tuesday as Honduras overran FIFA World Cup finalist Slovenia 5:1 in their first round match.
The Hong Kong side, a league selection featuring another FC performer in St. Kitts & Nevis international striker Keith Gumbs, were every bit a worthy opponent for the visitors for the first hour. But they then paid the price for lapses in concentration at both ends of the park.
First Brazilian striker Filho spilled a golden opportunity to give them the lead on 62 minutes, heading straight at the ‘keeper after being presented with a clear header eight yards from goal.
Five minutes later midfielder Gary McKeown's mis-hit clearance landed at the feet of Julio Cesar de Leon who promptly whipped in a quick cross for Martinez to score the crucial goal with a header at the near post.
Slovenia had earlier claimed third spot in the tournament with a 4:3 win on penalties over fellow World Cup qualifiers China after a dour 0:0 draw. It was the second penalty shootout loss for China after going down to Hong Kong in the first round; they are also missing influential coach Bora Milutinovic.
