(Also posted on the "reggaeboyz.com" forum - Well it is a New Year..... Tue Jan 1 08:40:04 2002)
...and the drive to 2006 has started.
I am looking forward to 'new thinking' by the leaders of the JFF.
I expect certain 'tasks' to be clearly identified and 'managing groups' with 'managing directors' in charge.
I expect the JFF to look outside of itself for the necessary expertise to address each area.
I expect a strengthened and stronger 'Secretariat' to co-ordinate the various operations/sub-groups and 'tasks'. Specifically I expect an increased emphasis on Marketing - (Marketing of the Reggae Boyz, players and other spin-off products)- and the improvement in the work of the Technical Committee - (Implementation of technical subcommittees to cover the entire island...and more frequent seminars/courses, sharing of knowledge with all affiliates throughout the length and breath of the country. This area alone would possible entail the mobilisation of 20,000 persons throughout various disciplines,..e.g. lecturers/experts for/in the various areas and participants - coaches, trainers, referees, sports medicine practioners, doctors, dentists, nutritionists etc., etc.).
I expect closer relationships between the JFF's Executive and the various affiliates. I expect this closer relations to result in the provision of technical knowhow being provided for affiliates consumption. I expect that there will an attendant all-island unearthing of talent, at all levels, for the benefit and good of the units at all levels - affiliates, national teams, individuals who work in the football industry, institutions and the individual player. I expect all the above to result in more international activity/cross fertilisation, etc. E.g a) Greater number of persons operating in the various technical areas attending greater number of external and local seminars...getting involved in diverse learning situations/and sharing the knowledge gained. I expect organised trickledown learning. b) More players and some technical persons gaining employment both locally and on the international scene.
I expect the JFF to do all in its power to aid the success of Technical Director Carl Brown and his team.
I EXPECT THE JFF TO BECOME A MORE TRANSPARENT ENTITY. I EXPECT GREAT THINGS FOR OUR FOOTBALL!
Happy New Year to all! May 2002 bring you personal fulfillment and great joy!
