After suffering two consecutives losses-- first to Mexico at home and then to Honduras Wednesday night in Honduras--the dream of a second W/Cup appearance is all but over (Mathematically the Boyz still are in with a chance). The question I choose to ask is: Where do we go from here? And, can we move forward with the same JFF members, coaching staff and players?

No doubt changes should be made, but do we need to drastically overall the programme inorder to move forward?

Or, if all parties remain unchange--JFF & the coaching staff--Can we still move forward and remain competitive in Concacaf and the World?

Let me attempt to examine the whole Reggae Boyz make-up.

The JFF: Surely, there are a number of questions that they, the JFF, must address quickly inorder to avoid a fall out in support for the Boyz. Both from a fan and sponsor perspective.

The number one question on the lips of most fans: Preparation--The way how the Boyz went about getting ready for this entire W/Cup campaign leaves a lot to be desired.
Also, the support for the coaching staff. Why have a TD, headcoach and an assistant, then ask the TD to prepare all three National Teams for important W/Cup qualifying engagements all at the same time.

There are much more, but those two stand out in the mind of this writer.

Anyway, many supporters are now questioning the ability of the current JFF staff members, especially it's President, and are now asking if they have the know how to lead Jamaica forward to. But, if not Burrell then who? Who do we know in the Jamaican circles that could/can do a better job that the "Captain" and company?

The Technical Director: Judging by the results of late and the fact that the Boyz are now realisticly out of contention for a final W/Cup appearance, the TD has went from hero to villan and as seemingly lost the vote of confidence of some supporters. In my eyes he is not without his faults and should be blamed for making a few ridiculous public statements and predictable subbing methods. However, keeping things in perpesctive and closely analysing is job requirements and even results, I must beg to differ with others. I will say this though: I support a replacement as long as that replacement will not be ask to go it alone. But will instead be allowed to recruit, at least some individuals to assist him with the overall programme.

Carl Brown and Peter Cargil: Without a doubt, Carl Brown had more influence on the programme this time around than when Simoes was in charge. Was that good or bad? I don't know. But like others, I have my suspicions. Cargil for the most part was a bit silent, even invisible. So what effect he had is very difficult to determine.

Still one must ask, what effects did they have on the programme? And will they continue or should they be allowed to continue to have an influence on the programme? Isn't it worthwhile have a few locals on the coaching staff.

If the TD is to be replaced, should one of those two be elevated to the position of Technical Director? If not, is there any local coaches out there that is a worthy candidate? Or do we go foreign shores for another TD?

The players: Now that it is over--the clubs know that too--what is the best way to go about preparing the team for 2006? Should the older players be discarded for younger ones, or should we continue as if nothing has changed? Considering that it is now obvious that we do not have the depth that some think we have...in player personell that is.

Say we were to Mexico in Jamaica in December. Who would you call for a game like this?

I probably should have stated this from the outset that it probably doesn't matter what we say, since I don't see anyone challeging the JFF leadership, who are the ones truly responsible for the direction the programme takes. But for argument sakes, lets discuss.

Respect and irie ites!

While i agree with you on most points, i find it highly unlikely that we will see any changes in the organization of the JFF.

The JFF is the Secret organization that exist to us only in name(Like the CIA, to the US). We know not the entire composition of this organization nor do we know what it takes to get a position. For what is supposed to be a pulic organization the JFF is extremely private. That fact has been proved especially by the President telling reporters to go "jump in a lake". And likewise by that same president stating that he has kept that organization afloat with his own money. So are we to assume that you Own the JFF now Mr. Burrell ?
We as supporters only know the JFF by the moves they have made. The bad sponsorship deals, the bad decisions on which players to call. The poor prepartion that has plagued the Boyz throughout this WCQ.

If in fact the JFF was an organization for the people and run by the people, someone would've been fired for mismanagement. But again those things only happen in publicly run organizations.

So until we all just come to the realization that the JFF is a private organization accountable to know one. It make now sense calling for the heads of any of it members is futile.

This is just my piece!!!

Bless!!

The JFF are idiots plain and simple, they are a bunch of dunce how in the world could you be around the Prof for four years and not learn anything?

Another thing that kills us in JA is our reluctance to accept change. We always use the excuse of there is no one else who can do the job and so we stay the course.

" We are like an abused person who gets abused and is convinced that they are to be blamed"

If we don't expect greatness then we are going to be mired in mediocricy

respect

Fire them all it can't be any worse. Just in case you all don't know Reid is the true cancer in the money dept. I will post on this on Monday

We arestill in it! Therefore the focus must be on motivating the team to fight on. Garner those additional 6 points and make the chips fall where they may.

The JFF decision makers...i.e. the delegates should vote changes. The administrators must become openly accountable. The white paper must be laid on the table explaining how it is proposed clearly defined goals are presumed to be met.

A removal of some of the decision makers and or a curtailment of some of their powers and or implementation of measures that results in accountability....i.e. non-performance = loss of position, refusal to provide imformation to delegates means being voted out of office and or some method to have it understood that failure to achieve desired result means one will be held accountable.

That is the TD or TDs are not the only persons to bear the brunt of 'failure' but those who make the decision on who the TD/TDs are. As in every work place the BOSS IS ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY SUCCESSES OR FAILURES!

Yes Karl, we still have a chance, albeit our destiny lies in the hands of others.

Wonder what we will do for a coach now? I mean for the next two games?

This is exactly the point. Did the JFF Boss think of this before opening his mouth and putting his foot in it?
