"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

Everytime they get caught with their hands in the cookie jar, regardless of government in power, the playbook is audit , resignation, movement of persons to other ministries and new procurement or oversight procedures.

Surprise the robbing continues, the definition of madness is you keep doing the same thing and expect a different result.

No prosecution ! And people get shocked when the opposition they don't like play hypocrite ?

Sass went so far to point out it happens frequently under one opposition minister whose party is not in power.

Really you are shocked or are you mad?

Exactly! He offered audits, resignations and new procurement rules, nothing about prosecuting anyone.

X, who should be prosecuted? Can the PM tell who should be prosecuted? Wouldn't law enforcement need to conduct an investigation, then pass their findings to the DPP for whomever to be prosecuted? Wouldn't findings from a forensic audit determine if the police are needed to step in?

I guess you just want something to complain about ... if the PM had said prosecute Y, then X would be complaining about political interference.

                    Again ... prosecute who?

                    Blacklisting companies
The Prime Minister believes that companies that benefited from Petrojam contracts in breach of the rules should be named. However, he first wants to clear the issue with the Attorney General. Holness said he has taken his cue from the Auditor General's report which did not name the companies and individuals that were controversially engaged by the refinery to provide services.
