  • What caused Jamaica's loss to Nicaragua???

    1. Was Nicaragua a better & more talented team than the ReggaeBoyz???
    2. Did the ReggaeBoyz underestimate Nicaragua???
    3. Are the ReggaeBoyz still on cloud 9 after their most successful run in international football, since qualifying for '98 WC???

If it's either 2 or 3, then Winnie needs to step up & get the 'Boyz ready & focused for competition.

If it's 1, then it's back to the usual failure of the JFF to have a comprehensive soccer program to effectively & efficiently develop the Jamaican players = BUSINESS AS USUAL for the JFF.

    2.
    Plus
    4. Missed too many scoring opportunities
    5. Some defensive disorganization, resulting in goals to Nicaragua

        4. Nicaragua's goalie was unconsicious. He made some incredible saves.

No think he was asked to make one spectacular save and it was the one from the shot from Peel Head where he dove to his left. Outside of that, he just had to hold his position as most of the shots came straight at him. Of course, they had some sting but positioning was key. He is what we'd call a good shot stopper.

We certainly did not have him doing enough on those corners, way too many out swingers.

Well the stats show it was not #1 as they were outplayed in every department save the departments of scoring and prevent goals. However the JFF is at the usual low management status.

The JFF's job is to lead and provide oversight on development of a Football Industry...that is not limited to an attempt or work at provision of a national senior team with scant regard to the other activities that drive creation of viable football industry.

The national senior team provides most visible face but the other national teams and the associated support areas and entities are equally of vital importance. As I mentioned to Don1 each area that aids development is "the other side of the coin". It is 'nonsense policy' to believe desired progress can be achieved by ignoring vital and critical tasks and areas.
