  • Association of Caribbean-American Journalists Meetings

    NACAJ website
    Greetings!
I look forward to seeing you at our inaugural meeting to discuss how this network of Caribbean-American Journalists can benefit you, your community and your homeland.

On Friday, March 28 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the National Association of Caribbean-American Journalists and the City of Miramar will host a Town Hall meeting to discuss the changing paradigm between the Diaspora and the region.

More importantly, we will share with you a tool kit to access the media and gain effective visibility for your organization and your cause.

On Saturday, seasoned and young journalists of Caribbean origin and descent from across the U.S. and the Caribbean will learn new skills while connecting with the Diaspora. They will also connect with recruiters who are looking to hire Caribbean-American Journalists.

We put this agenda together with you in mind.

We hope you will join us.

    Ann-Marie Adams
    President

Countdown: Three days left until Friday's Town Hall Meeting
    Neki Mohan, Anchor/Reporter, Local 10(ABC)
Born in New York and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, Neki Mohan says she connects with the thousands in the Caribbean community that have made their homes in South Florida. She is very active in the Caribbean community and says she understands the unique qualities that contribute to the diverse blend that is South Florida.

That's why she has no qualms about being blunt with Caribbean people who, she says, are under the radar in the U.S., even though they have economic clout. She can't wait to share her thoughts at the town hall meeting on Friday.

Mohan will join Dean of the CARICOM Ambassadors, Denis Antoine, Consul General of Trinidad and Tobago, Honorable Gerard, Greene, Community activist and Immigration attorney Dahlia Walker-Huntington, Miramar Vice Mayor, Winston Barnes and The World Bank at this upcoming town hall meeting March 28, at Miramar Town Hall. Doors open at 5 p.m. Event begins at 5:30 p.m. VIP reception for panelists and presenters to follow. (Tickets:$25).
