  • Give Ricketss his due ratings .

We need to be fair. Since Ricketts has taken over, we have qualified for a FIFA Women’s World Cup. The senior men’s team has improved its rankings. Our under 20s came within whiskers of qualifying for the under-20 World Cup, only nosed out by goal difference by Mexico. The football academy at The University of The West Indies is now complete. For the first time ever, we will host Concacaf Gold Cup games.

Why the everlasting doom and gloom narrative about football in Jamaica? If we compare football with what is happening with the other sports in Jamaica, then we would see that relatively speaking, the football administrators are doing better than most. Even if we are keen on flogging the devil, we must also give him his due.

THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

I would have to be very desperate in order to give the JFF my vote of confidence.
The face-saving was the JFF prioritized the MNT hence all other teams have to fend for themselves. The aftermath of Lawrence's outburst reveals even the MNT was not spared from the dereliction..
Ergo the success of the various teams likely occurred in spite of...
The question now is what higher heights would be achieved had the grassroot programmes been adequately(as mandated) supported by the JFF?
And WHY are we accepting the patty shop approach ..?

So explain why we didnt reach those heights post WC 98 under Burrell ? He had 20 plus years to do it, look the JFF operating in a ad hoc dysfunctional broke way isn't new, what's new is Ricketts achievements in such short order.

So Ricketts is unable to distinguish himself in landing sponsors but we are to credit him for the people who fill the void, the very people who are criticizing him?
Maybe those people no longer have any hope the JFF will carry out its mandate.
The point is it can't be a business model!

Who says Ricketts cant land sponsors,he has built the academy, artificial turf and all, campaigned on 2 GC successfully,Lawarence complaints were dealt with quickly, not this drawn out process like in the past.

Again expecting the JFF to professionalize its self overnight is admirable but is it realistic and if you are to judge him at that high of a standard, I hope it is consistent with your preffered choice in the future.
