The Opposition Member from Central Kingston Ronald Thwaites Tuesday brought to the first sitting of the House of Representatives a slew of questions and resolutions.
Mr. Thwaites, who served in the House as an active Government backbencher between 1997 and 2000, took up where he left off.
Mr. Thwaites tabled a Private Members Motion calling for the re-certification of all holders of driver's licenses every 15 years.
He argued that rampant indiscipline, incapacity and defective vehicles have been identified as the major contributory causes of road accidents.
The Central Kingston Member of Parliament also tabled a Private Members Motion calling on the Government to stimulate the creation of venture capital opportunities.
He says this comes against the backdrop of the scarcity of venture capital and its effect on the economy.
A third Private Members Motion called for the enactment of legislation to make registration of fathers compulsory.

Mr. Thwaites tabled questions on the current level of indebtedness arising from the construction of the Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium and the renovation of Sabina Park in Kingston.
These projects were undertaken by the People's National Party administration in preparation for the 2007 World Cup.
Another package of questions was tabled by Mr. Thwaites on the inventory of state own lands.
Yet another spoke of plans by the Government to allow the introduction of casino gambling in Jamaica.
Another batch of questions inquired of Finance Minister Audley Shaw when the Transfer Tax would be abolished, among other things.
