Reports are emerging that former Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Senator Anthony Johnson is to be named Jamaica's next Ambassador to Washington D.C.
Mr. Johnson was not returned to the Senate in the wake of the JLP's General Election victory.
When our News Centre made contact with Mr. Johnson he said he would neither deny nor confirm the reports.
Jamaica has been without an Ambassador to the US capital since August of this year when the previous ambassador Professor Gordon Shirley returned to the island.
Professor Shirley was named Pro Vice Chancellor and Principal of the Mona Campus of the University of the West Indies.
