  • Jamaica to vote on CCJ.

    Saturday, 15 September 2007
Prime Minister Bruce Golding Saturday gave the clearest indication yet that Jamaicans will vote on whether the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) should be the country's final appellate body.

Speaking in Trinidad where is he attended a Caricom Heads of Government meeting on Health, Mr. Golding reiterated his intention to hold a referendum on the CCJ.

He says the referendum will be held as soon as the reform of the Jamaican Constitution is completed.

While it was in Opposition, the Jamaica Labour Party maintained its stance on the issue of the Caribbean Court of Justice replacing the London based Privy Council.

It has insisted that a referendum be held to decide whether Jamaicans want to change their final appellate court.

The CCJ wants to become the law of the land in Jamaica,we had a Bad deal with the CSME already. They do not want a common currrency,we import US $300 million of there goods and services while they only take US36 million of ours.

For the CCJ to become the law of the land in Jamaica we'll be under foreign influences. This would be similer to judiciary system in america, and if played right can Give internal admistration Gov/Private problems. In George washington farewell speech he warn the colonies about foreign elements near or far.strongly disagree to the court.
