Re, the constitutional clause they actually do mean swearing as an adult, as this means that you would have technically and willingly pledged allegiance to some other power than the Jamaican monarchy. The reason why Canada and the UK would be exempt is that they have the same Monarch! Seaga got that one wrong. Remember, the constitution was framed prior to independence.
