Banana farmers say Tufton is the man for the job Thursday, 13 September 2007 One [COLOR=blue! important][COLOR=blue! important]farming[/COLOR][/COLOR] group has welcomed the appointment of Dr. Christopher Tufton as Minister of Agriculture.
Chairman of the All Island [COLOR=blue! important][COLOR=blue! important]Banana[/COLOR][/COLOR] Growers Association, Bobby Pottinger, says Dr. Tufton is the right man for the job.
"I think he is an excellent choice for Minister of Agriculture. An educated man who can flex his muscles and understand the whole sector and use his [COLOR=blue! important][COLOR=blue! important]energies[/COLOR][/COLOR] and his drive to bring the sector together and further more he represents one of the breadbasket parishes and I think with his knowledge and what he has seen on the ground he will be able to mobilize all of us in banana, sugar and coffee and run it as a business," said Mr. Pottinger.
