  • Net International Reserves decline

There was a US$78 million decline in the country's Net International Reserves (NIR) last month.

As a result, the NIR which amounted to US$2.1 billion at the end of July was at just under US$2 billion four weeks later.

In term of weeks of imports the NIR was valued at 14 weeks down from 16 weeks in July.
"Jamaica's future reflects its past, having attained only one per cent annual growth over 30 years whilst neighbours have grown at five per cent." (Article)
