regretably, it should never have come to this if the eoj had exercised due diligence...
this is a disgrace... what happens if three are disqualified... will there be a runoff or will those seats be void or will the pnp claim victory in those seats... it looks like a nasty affair... now the country will be in turmoil... there will be accusations that the govt. is illegitimate...
we could see a new election soon if they are found to be dual citizens or citizens of another country...'to get what we've never had, we MUST do what we've never done'

they ask for the relief they seek....i think the court will decide on the appropriate relief. a by election would be the most fair decision if the elected individual is ineligible...why?
some amount of gamesmanship to steal a march and win unopposed basically. what if the candidate was elected by an overwhelming majority and the loser barely got double figures? that means they would get an elected represenatative which they clearly didn't want. also given the importance of a seat...it should go back to the democratic process.

Dont absolve the PNP of blame though.
If you see someone breaking the law, you are obliged to report it beforehand and not try to use it for personal gain. It is an immoral act.
Clearly if correct, the JLP was lax, but the PNP was devious.
