A father of two sons, Sebastian,17, and Andrew, 8, students of Campion and Hillel respectively, and a three-year-old daughter, Nicole, he is married to a dentist, Dr Paula Mair.

He could have settled in Venezuela after studies, despite his family's businesses in Jamaica which include Desmond G Mair insurance brokerage started by his father. Mair's mother was a Venezuelan who came to Jamaica to study English and married his father. They later divorced and she returned to the Spanish-speaking country.

In Venezuela, Mair studied civil engineering and later acquired an MBA in Chile, returning to Jamaica in 1989. He has since expanded the family business beyond the insurance brokerage into housing development.

Based on what David Coore said this morning, thats for the courts to decide.

Unuh misunderstand what was posted? According to the constitution, if they are citizens due to their parents then they aren't in breach of the constitution. Suh before unuh start jumping to conclusion, guh read the constitution and get the facts about Mair before claiming him can serve in other ways.

...but, this is how I understand it: whoever files the suit can... - or is it must ask? - for the type of "redress" (not sure "redress" is the correct word)...I think what can be requested is declaring the 'winnah' not comforming to Constitution and Law...and, based on that 1st part being the successful -

...the 2nd part would be asking for a voiding of the status of 'winnah' as 'winnah' -


...then the 3rd part being asking/requesting for either of requested by plaintiff grant either i) a new election to fill the seat or, ii) the loser declared the 'winnah'! i.e. person properly nominated the 'winnah'...

...ofcourse if both are not properly nominated then - the courts could not make a determination on a 'winnah'. dat deh option would be off the books.
