  • i dont see or hear the appeal for assistance from jamaicans

seems as it most people were listening to power 106 and hearing people who had phone communication telling the world that they were fine...

what was missing were the many unfortunate ones who went into the shelters to save their lives but are now left without homes and clothing...

after the dust settles, we will hear that this was a devastating hurricane that created major damage...

A number of international agencies have promised help..even before the hurricane hit, Barbados, US AID, the US and Venezuela were on stand by to send help where needed.

I also spoke to a staff member of the British High Commission who said a plane load of aid was on it way and was due to land in MoBay on Monday night.

I never seen such un-informed Journalism like thos ewho covered Dean in Jamaica. Fox had a woman 10 floors up in New Kingston 'covering' Jamaica...although it was better than what we got after from the locals. RJR Reporter thought he was giving political commentary....one of the major problems in Jamaica is the poor Journalism - these people are the ones who form public opinion but some of them.....

I covered mostly for AFP and they are very aggressive and demanding, they told me to spare no expenses, if I have to go rent a 4x4 vehicle and go out in the storm to get the job done then no problems.

So all the pictures you saw from western Jamaica on the AFP site were from me and most of the texts from here as well
