KINGSTON, Jamaica— Former Government minister Dr DK Duncan has died.

Dr Duncan, who recently tested positive for COVID-19, died in hospital a short while ago.

Dr Duncan was diagnosed last month, and was then admitted to hospital.

A statement from his family at the time said after experiencing some signs of sinusitis and tiredness, out of an abundance of caution Dr Duncan did a COVID-19 test and the results indicated that he was positive.

THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

Condolences to his family. At his age he should not have been in a crowd without a mask. This was avoidable.
"Jamaica's future reflects its past, having attained only one per cent annual growth over 30 years whilst neighbours have grown at five per cent." (Article)

Sorry for his passing although he was simply a loud mouth useless politician who thought that Jamaica should be a colony of Cuba/Russia. He accomplished very little positive results for the citizens of that former slave plantation island. He is a PNP Darryl Vaz only less corrupt and more intelligent.

              • Don't let negative things break you, instead let it be your strength, your reason for growth. Life is for living and I won't spend my life feeling cheated and downtrodden.

                  A Whats App Mssg!

I am old enough to remember when the three hotels on Knutsford Boulevard (Pegasus, Skyline and Sheraton as it was then) were essentially out of bounds to black Jamaicans, unless you are staff. In 1973, it took a visit by 3 revolutionaries, Dr. D. K. Duncan, Anthony Spaulding and Dudley Thompson, newly minted government ministers, who entered one of the properties and demand equal treatment. Each was decked in their tams and casual dress. This led to the desegregation of all three properties on the strip. Black people now take a visit or even a stay at these hotels for granted. We should however NEVER forget that it was only up to 1973 that our people were routinely harassed and treated like second class citizens in these venues.

Needless to say, the moment the hotels were "opened up", Jamaican whites and assistant whites largely moved their entertaining to their homes.

Too often I hear Jamaicans say that we don't have racism in Jamaica. Well it may not be overt and vulgar like in the USA but racism and class prejudice are ever present in this country. We have been very good at concealing and masking this ugly underbelly that plague our society to this day. Bless D.K. Duncan, Tony Spaulding and Dudley Thompson for their fearless efforts at helping to lift Jamaica out of the dark ages. These three warriors are all gone now, but the struggle continues to this day. History will be kind to them for their impatience in helping to create a Jamaica that is more equitable and livable for all its people. Not just the privileged few.
We must ensure that that history is accurately written!! WALK GOOD YOU THREE EXTRAORDINARY UNAPOLOGETIC WARRIORS FOR JUSTICE. YOU ALL MEET AGAIN TO GIVE SOME "GOOD TROUBLE"
