  • A Psalm for Ben Jammin

    Psalm 113

1 -3 Hallelujah! You who serve God, praise God!
Just to speak his name is praise!
Just to remember God is a blessing—
    now and tomorrow and always.
From east to west, from dawn to dusk,
keep lifting all your praises to God!

4 -9 God is higher than anything and anyone,
outshining everything you can see in the skies.
Who can compare with God, our God,
    so majestically enthroned,
    Surveying his magnificent
    heavens and earth?
He picks up the poor from out of the dirt,
rescues the wretched who've been thrown out with the trash,
Seats them among the honored guests,
a place of honor among the brightest and best.
He gives childless couples a family,
gives them joy as the parents of children.
    Hallelujah!
Solidarity is not a matter of well wishing, but is sharing the very same fate whether in victory or in death.

I actually agree with Ben on this one.

It strikes me as odd that someone who never mothered kids would be so quick to usurp that title. It is disingenous and displays an assumptive attitude. Sister, I have no issue with, but Mamma P. is pushing it, especially as she is not talking to kids!!!

If she did it once or twice, OK, but now its a regular thing and I find it actually very offensive.

I am Catholic, and I am not comfortable turning to a priest for marital advice for the same reason.

Strongly disagree! Especially when I've seen too many people who should have been neutered at birth, while seeing childless individuals and couples be great parents.

Still, she needs to drop the mama talk and show us why we should trust her and give her a second mandate. She already has a mandate as far as I'm concerned. Even biological mothers should not be loved if they don't deserve it.

You are both agreeing she calls herself Mam too much but you are in disgareeance (Admiral Bailey language) about the role of those who cnat have children taking on to themsleves the roles of motherhood.

She has taken on no such role in actuality. THAT is my point.

A mother is not just biological!

If she even fostered kid, i would understand.

In any case, in addressing adults...it is distasteful to be continuously trying to assume this label. As I said, one or 2 times, OK, but it now looks to be nothing more than a manipulative trick.

I think it might work for the most downtrodden of our people. For many of them, mothers are the only thing in their lives. Bruce represents "father", who they don't know, or who used to beat mama and them, and shoot up di place.

                Who would you prefer?

Perhaps Maudib, you are being too cynical with a sensitive issue.
