The author leaves out two underlying factors race and apathy,people voted along those lines.If the Democrats had a white candidate for governour would that make a difference or a new candidate for the Senate race instead of a 2O year swamp creature,granted Scott isn't any better,but it is a factor.

Democrats need to look at these issues when Fielding candidates and make contingencies to support the respective campaigns along those lines.

That said,it was razor thin close.
