Orville Higgins | Time to get rid of ISSA's archaic 45 per cent rule

THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

so orville is endorsing the shuttling of failing students through high school so that they can develop their athletic ability?

Or is he saying ,its going on already ,why are you targeting a specific athletic group ?

if it's going on already then what was the point of the article?

To point out the hypocrisy, why target a specific group as the fault or (a) fault. If they (ISSA) were serious about it ,they would acknowledge the systemic problem and deal with it fairly.

listen to what you're saying...failing student athletes are being shuttled through the system so that they can develop their athletic ability...so please advise why he wrote an article calling for a ban of the 45% rule if the rule is not being enforced? talk sense nuh...

I read that it is being enforced selectively to apply only to a specific athletic group.

Hence the call to ban it.

show me where in the article he alluded to that...he said why are other "extra-curricular" activities not included...which is also ridiculous because ISSA is mandated to deal with sport...not the chess club...

But you said it ,took it out of context though, look at it in context !

When you point out that ISSA only has this rule for athletes and not for students involved in any other extra curricular activity you will hear that ISSA is a body of principals set up to govern sports and therefore can't delve in other areas.

no they can't...that falls on Ruel Reid minister of education...and he has already addressed the issue...schools are now unable to allow failing students to move to the next grade...let's stay n topic here...

Ok boss so I suggest you don't quote it and state that from the beginning.

                          I just posted it.
