  • High schools implement cashless system

As part of the measures aimed at curtailing violence against students, some schools have implemented a cashless system.

It allows students to use a debit card for lunch and other school related expenses.

The card will also be used by parents to pay school fees.

Parents will be charged $20 plus GCT each time they add value to the card while the children will pay six dollars per day to use it.

Our News Centre has learnt that Campion College, Holy Childhood, Ardenne High and Sts. Peter and Paul Prep Schools have implemented the cashless system.

Last year, several instances of violence against students were reported to the police.

The students were often robbed of cash and their cellular phones.

Several schools have also banned cellular phones and other electronic gadgets.
