On Tuesday, Commerce and Technology Minister, Phillip Paulwell, refused to comment on the controversial deal which fell through with telecommunications company Solutrea.
The Minister, who was at the centre of a questionable sales agreement between the company and the government for the country’s fourth cellular license, dodged questions from reporters on Tuesday.
At a press conference on Monday, officials from Solutrea told journalists that the license will be returned unconditionally to the government.
The company also said the Technology Ministry will return payments made by Solutrea.
It said the main reason for returning the license was the fact that the issue was politicised.
The license was granted to Solutrea by Technology Minister Phillip Paulwell, but was revoked after concerns were raised that it had been granted without the proper scrutiny.
In the meantime, Mr. Paulwell launched the Incubator and Entrepreneurial Production Centre Project Tuesday morning.
The production centre will aid young entrepreneurs in setting up their own businesses.
According to the Commerce Minister, the centre will, among other things, facilitate the creation of employment and contribute to growth in Gross Domestic Product.
