Trump, consciously or unintended, has sold to 'the voters' a belief that labour intensive, 'mass labour' jobs will return to the USA and only he can make it happen.
If you pause for a split second on thought two things suggests he lied or was delusional.
1. USA's cost of living and its relationship to labour costs and resulting price of goods to end users;
2. 'The rise of the machines'/technology and impact on displacement of human workers.
