If you look at the graph (on the left) CNN is just above "sensational or clickbait" and below "basic AF" ....(I'm not sure what AF is BTW)...anyway, they're not rated highly, though they get a "better than not reading any news at all" (at the bottom of the graph).

It's (the chart) not infallible, but based on the crap that passes through my FB page it's fairly accurate I'd say. The news organizations are I believe re-organizing themselves based on the "fake news" and other epithets that have been thrown at them. At the end of the day, they do answer to a higher entity... we know they (the mainstream) are not independent.

Yes its a decent guideline. I agree that the the more reputable news organizations are trying to recalibrate to an extent. The far right especially has been quite successful in redefining the meaning of "fake news" among their base to mean any news that they do not like.

Isn't it strange that in a world where there is easier access to information than ever before, it appears as if more people are being misinformed than ever before?

Well at least these professors are trying to do something about it. I am looking forward to taking this course online when it is available. Of course the majority of people who need it most would never consider taking it.

Maddow is less of a journalist than OReilly is, she just has a less offensive personality.
