The Police State was already being put into place by the so-called liberals & so called conservatives i.e. the political elite tied to huge multinationals and the Military Industrial Complex...the Clintons, Bush clan etc etc

This Trump guy is merely accelerating the pace...

So this is not merely about Trump's advent. This is about the relative decline of the USA/Western Alliance vs near peer states & Asia as a whole... Plus the impact of a de-industrialized & highly financialized economy controlled by BANKS(TERS) and assorted billionaires..

This rape of the country by liberal/conservative thieving elites has led to a MASSIVE drift of wealth up to the top levels, rising income inequality...and a middle class suffocating on high debt and stagnant incomes. Of course the lower classes (highly occupied by Blacks) are just more fcuked up than "normal"

So it's these trends that drive the Police State and not fighting "terrorism" as they claim. With the above geopolitical & socioeconomic trends in play...a likely breakdown of the current "social contract" and resulting civil disorder are seen as real threats to the current "order".

It is this scenario that Babylon has seen as possible and has been preparing for decades to control..starting with militarizing the police and 24X7X365 surveillance of EVERYONE. If the real targets were just "terrorists"..they would be focused only on them...NOT EVERYONE.

Trump's eventual removal from power will not solve the core problems. Only a big societal reform which limits the power of oligarchs and The Complex. So the Trump phenomenon is a short term aberration i.e. a child-like fascist who will go away at some point...but THE POLICE STATE WILL REMAIN

Don1!!! Many of the posters here are either ignorant of the history of the U.S.A. or choose to ignore it. As a “white” man, I will say that the “founding fathers” and most of the successive politicians do not see people of color & poor people as a priority, and they are willing and able to do whatever they need to do to protect the status quo. The troubling thing is that those who are continually “getting the shaft”, the masses, continue to put their trust in the broken, racist & corrupt system…….Just study the United States Constitution and successive Amendments, as well as the Laws that are supposed to ensure “law & order” and "protect the people".
I don’t know why some people feel that the REAL things that are being done by the Trump administration are new and surprising. The only difference is that Trump is a “showman” and a distraction.

There is a great argument to be put forward that those most affected by the policies march to the polls and make choices bad for them.

Just looking at a few policies that Hillary would have kept or made better for the citizens:
- The Affordable Care Act aka ObamaCare;

- Immigration policy;

- Education;

- EPA = policy beneficial to the country and the world;

- numerous economic and fiscal laws and acts;

...and we could go on and on.

As I said before:
a) Trump is a racist and selfish rich guy (...bias towards the 'monied/moneyed class', f@#$%$#@!k those outside same);

b) ...has not a clue about the *interconnectivity of the USA economy and relationships with the rest of the world;

c) Unfortunately, like many of the Americans I meet, he thinks all others are fools. ...and yuh kno 'ow dat guh? He who believes all others are fools and 'all knowledge' resides with him IS A FOOL! e.g. USA first being trumpeted as if those across the table would not be equally thinking 'my country's interest first' and thus would gleefully accept nothing but give all to US...i.e. negotiation is not a meeting of the minds! = Something for you! Examples - The recent Executive action that affect the 7 Muslim countries and other nations' citizens impact jobs in our US airline industry as millions put travel plans on hold or cancel same. = Effect of loss revenue on our airline industry and affiliated or associated other areas.

- Blackmail of local USA companies to keep jobs in the US even if profits are eroded...and how that would affect the financial health of the companies and impact on jobs and job growth, pension funds and retirement accounts, protection of US companies and industries market share of products and services, etc.

Trump's actions have long term implications for the US economy.

- Impact on Federal Government's moral compass = Moving away from progress towards universal health-care, etc., etc.

Well the markets started reacting the day after he won the election.

Wall Street and corporate America are still anticipating big tax cuts and rollback of govt regulations, and if that does happen they will be willing to work with Trump and not criticize him much. However you are now seeing some nervousness as Trump rants about trade wars and immigration bans.

My sense is that they are too optimistic as Trump brings a lot of uncertainty but we will see. It is more likely than not that big business will do well under Trump though.

I agree. Along with a few others here I find your analyses informed and insightful....going beneath the surface to the real issues.

The problem with most people is that they're wedded to and controlled by mainstream media news and commentary i.e. The Babylon Propaganda Machine...nowadays called Fake News. So their understanding of the world is totally shaped, guided, dominated and LIMITED by the news cycle.

By adulthood most have consumed 10s of thousands of hours of this propaganda....they cannot escape it...why?
