  • This Democratic party needs revamping.

The party needs some hardline liberal leadership
    .
Imagine Rubio voting for Tillerson .....after grilling him with those tough questions during the confirmation hearing. McCain & Graham are also on board.

The Republican success is based on this hardline adherence to their values.

    Democrats suck.

If Trump has any success at all with his jobs agenda, dawg nyam the Democrats food.

It won't matter how many people he insults, the Rust Belt will be lost for a decade. They hate the terms NAFTA and TPP up there, and Trump is latching on to that from Week 1.

Democrats are basically powerless in D.C. right now, couldn't stop a single confirmation. They might as well take to the streets with the protesters.

Did you expect Rubio to do anything different? He just wanted his name mentioned again.

Listened a part of his address to the CEOs of major corporations.

Like Trump or not....he made Obama look like novice in big business negotiations.

It looks like his approach is going to be something like this:

Ok fellow billionaires, I am going to get rid of those pesky govt regulations and lower your taxes, and you have to bring back some production to the US. If you choose to turn down this offer, I will trash your company and you personally, and raise tariffs on your goods. So do we have a deal?

"Imagine Rubio voting for Tillerson" - Why would that surprise you??? You forgot what happened to Cantor???

When you're a Republican politician you're not allowed to think for yourself nor question the party's direction. Follow or get kicked to the curb.

The Democrats just need NEW blood with some GUTS.......There are young, promising members that just need to STEP UP, and I think that Obama-Holder "coalition" will help with that (it is one of their "TASKS").

You were NOT at that breakfast meeting this morning, at the White House, so you have NO idea what was discussed, what was said and what they agreed to do.......You are basing your assessment on Trump, who is a known LIAR & CON-ARTIST, on what he said to impress the media & his followers.

"Like Trump or not....he made Obama look like novice in big business negotiations." - There were negotiations???, and You know the DETAILS of his negotiations???.......C'mon HL!!!

*He says he will make ALL these corporations bring their operations/manufacturing back to the U.S., and people are celebrating. - How is he going to make sure that these U.S. manufactured products are affordable, because operational/manufacturing costs (wages, insurance, taxes, utilities, etc.) are going to be WAAAAAAAY higher???.......No use manufacturing goods that consumers can't afford.

USAF, of course I was not at the meeting.

The meeting with the CEOS was scheduled for 1 hour but lasted nearly 2.

C-SPAN covered SOME portion of the meeting...showing Trump addressing the group.

I am no fan of Trump...but I can relate to his business approach.

Obama could have done exactly what Trump is doing. It was pointed out that he met Directly with only 3 of the CEOS gathered today.

Trump is a BS artist, so it's nothing for him to blow 2 hours. Go back and check, and you'll see that exceeding the expected "meeting times" is straight out of the "Trump Playbook" to give the impression that he's in serious negotiations or discussions - he did it when he met with Obama, at the White House; when he met the high ranking Republicans, at the Capitol; when he met with business leaders at Trump Towers, as well as pretty much everyone who he met with at Trump Towers, and he ALWAYS made sure to point out to the media how the meeting went longer than expected.

You're a business man, so you should know that no SERIOUS business person would broadcast any important meeting/negotiation to the public. Is this the new White House "Reality" TV Show, staring Donald J. Trump???

HL!!!.......Stop just parroting what they tell you on TV, and go check for yourself. Obama has met directly with top executives from IBM, DOW, Lockheed Martin, Motorola Solutions, Ford, GM, Boeing, Honeywell, General Electric, Google, Xerox, Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco, Chrysler (FCA), Apple, Caterpillar, etc., etc., etc........Now Trump wants to meet with auto companies about jobs??? - Some of the same auto companies that he wanted to fail & leave hundreds of thousands of auto industry workers unemployed.......If you don't follow the "news", you're uninformed, AND if you follow the news you're misinformed.

U.S. manufacturing companies have factories in foreign countries for the same reason that Trump used Chinese steel & aluminum, instead of from U.S., to build his hotel - It's cheaper.......How is he going to convince companies to move their manufacturing back to the U.S., when FAR HIGHER operating & manufacturing costs in the U.S. are going to erode their profits and force them to inflate prices (to the consumer)???

USAF, do you still think TPP is going forward, that Obamacare is going to survive, and that NAFTA is not going to be renegotiated? Do you still think that nothing changes in US-Russia relations?

These were things you told us that we don't understand how they work, that the decisions are all made by men in a back room we don't know about and they won't change them. How is that working out?

Your claim that Trump is no different from other Republican presidents is not holding up very well. Showman or not, he is doing things differently.

You are oversimplifying something that is complex. Clearly companies are not going to bring ALL manufacturing jobs back. I do not know if Trump said that or not, perhaps he did, but nobody sensible seriously expects that. Trump is not to be taken literally anyway, he specializes in over the top statements that mean nothing.

That doesn't mean that nothing can change. There are manufacturing operations that are now automated enough that moving them back to the US is not going to send wage costs through the roof. If certain companies get the right tax incentives and regulation changes it might actually make sense for them to do just that, and give Trump his PR win in the process.

Highly automated factories won't solve the unemployment problem of the unskilled high school dropout in small town USA or the inner city, but it does create some economic activity in places where nothing positive has happened for 3 decades or so.

Politically, all Trump and the Republicans need is to have the Rust Belt states on their side and they have a winning formula for keeping power at all levels. That is the Democrats nightmare problem that they have to solve, or they are left with hoping Trump self-destructs.

Sir, again, I am no fan of Donald Trump.

There are some important things that need to change in the US.

Trump is using methods of change that your normal politicians would not do. Take SOME unnecessary regulations ONE example....................

Anyway I won't debate this any further.

They are not looking on the adverse effect. I know a company that has locations in different countries. They are now in wait and see mode. What do they do? shutdown their investment in China, England, Mexico, and Brazil? Will they have to pay the 35 percent although they have huge US investment too?

There is the adverse effect as Mexico pecos has lost more than 35 percent which make it more attractive to invest there now. TPP, Trump say he is going have one on one agreement. How many countries and how long will this take?

Trump is a conman and we will see and we will see. Trump they have done no analysts and just a bully. We will see in two years time.
