With his ties to the Alpha Boys’ School going back to the 1940s, Winston “Sparrow” Martin was mentored by the greats of Jamaican music.

For almost 30 years, the jocular drummer has been a father figure for many youth attending that hallowed Kingston facility, now known as the Alpha Institute.
