  • Millennials......

This is certainly an interesting group.

I work with mostly millennials and they never cease to amaze me.

Their over all attitude, their approach to civil society, work ethics, intelligence, education, social skills, approach to basic problem solving...etc ....make this group a very complex bunch.

I learn a lot from them...and at the same time--they have me pulling my hair out

Us human beings are certainly evolving. In 50 years, everyday activities of daily living will be very profound.

I am merely attempting to compare them with traits of the baby boomers or even Gen x.

A friend who is a school teacher...said her high school students insist on taking pictures of homework assignments with their cell phones. ........

The % of this group who voted in the recent general election was less than other groups.......

Social interactions must include some form of electronic device. ..........

The irony is I find the group that work with me quite interesting. That's why I added to the statement you wanted explain--^that they are quite complex^.

Whenever I leave on vacation or away on extended stays--it is these kids all less than 27 yo that run my business. And they do an outstanding job!

I will tell you something funny. I coach a U16 boys team. As you know, when we play ball in Jamaica, is bear nize you hear on the field..."turn!" "man on!" "back!" "pressha!" etc. Well, these kids don't talk. So we devised a practice just to get them to talk where the players would receive the ball with their back to the opponent so the passer had to give him the next move instruction...e.g. "turn!" "play it back" etc. Dread...it was like pulling teeth. Eventually, the DOC turned to them and shouted "WOULD THIS BE EASIER IF WE HAD YOU TEXT EACH OTHER!!!!" LOL! Different times...as we were to the generation before us.

            They are quite different.

They do not have some of the practical skill set that ^we^ possess.

Task like using a tape measure, using a hammer and other tools is challenging to them.

I keep an open mind around them though. They keep me young

Yes the texting thing has replaced socializing .... Those skills are being eroded in a real way

You have role to play too in respect of social skills. The rudeness of talking to someone while on the phone browsing or texting someone else

ABSOLUTELY! They do not conduct any transaction while the customer is on the phone. This is a rule that has been set.
