  • Did 3rd party candidates kill Clinton's chances?

As I drive to work this morning I heard about the protests last night ..(no ..I didn't watch any news last night). and hearing some of these protesters speaking I wondered how many made a protest vote ... so I checked.

In states that Trump unexpected won, Wisconsin, Michigan, PA as well as AZ I found that the margin by which Trump won, was less, sometimes significantly less than the votes for Johnson and Stein.

Time and again Princeton University faculty Eddie S. Glaude Jr. while on MSNBC's Morning Joe would insist that he lives in a blue state so he can make a protest vote and I have always cringed and asked my wife what if others hold the same view? Well ... story come to bump. Now, I am not saying that all Johnson and Stein voters would have gone for Clinton, however, based on the attitude of the Bernie supporters who insisted on voting 3rd party ...

Trump won Florida by 119,770 votes. Johnson got 270,026 votes.
Trump won Wisconsin by 27,257 votes, Johnson got 106,442.
Trump won PA by 68,236 votes, Johnson got 142,653.
Trump won MI by 11837 and Johnson got 176,021.

    Strange enough .....

Trump won AZ by 86637, Johnson got 99174.

Big ups to those who wanted to make a protest vote. Flipping idiots.

Three things, all else being equal:

    1. Had they NOT voted at all, then doesn't that mean Trump would still have won?

    2. Had they voted other than independent, how do you (does anyone) know whether they wouldn't have voted for Trump?

    3. The assumption is that they should have voted for Hillary.

It not being equal ,my question is why is it even that close?
THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

Lazie - regardless of the motivation, democracy affords people the right to vote for who they want. I submit that America would be a much better place if there were no political parties and the people would have to truly know their candidates, not have any party affiliation to cloud their judgement.

I fully agree however, hearing protesters complain about issues like climate changes I have to wonder ... how many of them made a protest vote ....and is now complaining. They need to chill ...

The beauty about democracy is that there is always another election.

For the person who voted for the Green Party instead of Clinton because purity was more important to them than practicality, well they have to decide if Trump gutting the EPA and appointing climate change deniers to run it was worth it for them. If it was worth it then by all means vote Green Party again in 4 years, if not then perhaps consider that maybe the perfect doesn't have to be the enemy of the good.

Its how Democracy works, and the people have spoken, loudly.
