    I said it.
THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

So how America end up with dem 2 poor quality candidates?

How come America had J. Edgar Hoover with him filth for so long and moral McCarthyism (un-American activities committee ....sounds like committee for anti-Soviet behaviour).

Outta Canada and America, which one seems to have the more sane political system? Most of Latin America copy the US system and dem ah basket cases.

Is not the system, its the people and their level of maturity.

That's a fallacy that Latin America has modeled its governance after America in fact B.S the only thing they have in common is they fought against their former European master to free them self of that yoke to set up their own monarchial structure of viceroys ,Latin America in the past 20 years have just begun to embrace something looking like a democracy with tangible economic and human rights progress.

As for Canada they haven't the historical burden of fighting for unalienable rights, fightibg against taxation without representation,a civil war to deal with the question of slavery.Canada like Australia was comfortable being a part of the system because of certain white emperic privileges, like exterminating the natives for the King or Queen or empire would be a better word.

The 2nd place behind the Caribbean was central and latin America in number of slave revolts maybe that hindered their democratic advancement to be more of a dictatorship. In other words instead of freeing themselves of the European yoke of slavery, they coded it differently with viceroys and strongmen.

God bless America for dealing with it,dem not even start yet.

Canada didnt have taxation without rep?

              hahahaha

Stop believe the uS fairy tale. The US independence had little to nothing to do with a tax revolt.

Indeed, the US INVADED Canada in 1812 and get dem ass cut, but the Brit using runaway US slaves who got their freedom. The US past is not as stellar and clean as they try to make out.

Of course there were civilian and military dictatorships in Latam, BUT the POLITICAL structures were very similar to what the US have Congressional Republics with Presidencies. The fact that so many dictatorships sprung up in many, gives the proof that the system is just as easy to manipulate as any other.

All it really takes is collaboration between the military leaders and the president. I don't see anything special in the US system that guards against that.

I prefer the separation of powers of the US system when it comes to funding programs, etc. The downside is potential for gridlock which Washington has been dealing with more frequently these days. However all things being equal I prefer it compared to the official power that a PM has.

As you say though in the end it's the people and the traditions supporting the system more than the system itself.
